Causes of Female Infertility

The causes of female infertility can be many but the good news is that many of these causes are easy and simple to address with natural methods - no prescription drugs involved.

Low progesterone is a major factor because it is vital for pregnancy to occur. Low progesterone during the second half of the monthly cycle is one of the most common causes of female infertility.

Fertility can also be high but if inadequate progesterone is produced, the fertilized egg will not embed in the lining of the uterus, so the fertilized egg is aborted.

If the interval between ovulation and menstruation is too short (less than 12 days) that means you are short of progesterone.

If more than one of the above causes of female infertility occur, chances for pregnancy are reduced exponentially.

This is quite possible due to the modern lifestyle many people lead. Fast, stress filled lives with poor dietary choices can easily lead to more than one of these causes occurring simultaneously.

Contraceptives can result in infertility for a while after discontinuing. It may take a few cycles before the ovaries begin ovulating again.

Anovulation is when an egg is not released during the cycle. Too high levels of estrogen and testosterone can result in anovulation.

Progesterone can suppress the excess estrogen and testosterone and balance them properly.

Excess stress reduces progesterone levels. Cortisol is synthesized from progesterone and stress produces more cortisol, depleting progesterone.

Endometriosis is caused by excess estrogen (including xenoestrogens) and inadequate antioxidants. Low antioxidants are due to low amounts of fresh, raw foods in the diet.

Excess estrogen causes inflammation of the uterine lining, preventing an egg from embedding in the uterus, another cause of female infertility that can be reversed with progesterone and adding supplements will also help.

Xenoestrogens can also be a major factor in female infertility and progesterone can also help to eliminate this problem since it is a hormone imbalance problem.

Progesterone is very important for correcting any hormonal issues connected to infertility since it is used to produce and balance other hormones in the body.
